Weipa Gymnastics Club has been and incorporated club since 1990 and as a club has offered gymnastic instruction in Weipa since December 1968, as a part of the Weipa Recreation Association . During this time it has moved venues and is now currently situated behind the Weipa Town Authority and library, in the old picture theatre building.
The Club would not have survived for the length of time it has without the dedication of numerous people. In particular, Mr Trevor Rayner, a Life Member , hwo was the driving force behind the clib becoming incorporated on 11 April 1990.
The disciplines that are now offered to club members include; Kindergym 2-4 years, Pre-Gym and Men's Women's artistic Gymanastics. Other disciplines are offered
The club competes actively, when it is able and will continue to do so. The isolation ,cost of travel and distance can limit the number of competitions the club is able to participate in .
The club endevours to display members talents to the wider community through various events held during the year in Weipa . Our Bi-annual "Fun Day " and "Fishing Classic" are the main events where displays are held. Displays and competitions are held for parents and interested persons to attend through the year at the club.
